New Zealand beats Pakistan in ICC WWC

New Zealand beats Pakistan by 71 runs during Saturday’s match at the Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Suzie Bates from New Zealand, who was the third woman to surpass the 5,000-run mark in ONE-Day Internationals, scored 126 runs. Suzie is now in her 12th century of ODIs, and fourth World Cup. To make it 265 runs, she helped New Zealand while batting first against Pakistan.

For New Zealand’s 266, Pakistan’s team scored 194 runs for 9 wickets. Hannah Rowe took five wickets and ran 55 runs.¬†Nida Dar, a Pakistani bowler, took three wickets in Pakistan for 39 runs in just 10 overs. In the batting field, Nida dar scored 50 runs for Pakistan while Bisma Maroof was also on top for 38 runs.

Three wickets were lost by Pakistan for 155 runs, but thereafter none of the players from Pakistan could stay on the crease. The next six players added only 39 runs to the scoreboard.¬†According to the Associated Press (AP), it was Pakistan’s last match in the Women’s Cricket World Cup, the Pakistani team is now officially out of the tournament. However, New Zealand is still in the running for the knockout stage.

New Zealand has a slim chance of reaching the semi-finals. New Zealand won against Pakistan to move up to the sixth place. This is equal to fourth-placed England or India, but their run rates are better than New Zealand.
